Can I Book a Same-Day Flight with Flights Holbox?
Yes, same-day private flights with Flights Holbox may be possible, depending on aircraft and pilot availability, your route, weather conditions and the time of your request.
If you need a last-minute private flight, submit your request as early as possible. Same-day availability cannot be guaranteed because we need time to coordinate the aircraft, pilot, airport arrangements and passenger information.
To help us check availability quickly, please provide your travel date, preferred departure time, route, number of passengers and approximate luggage when submitting your flight request.
How Far in Advance Should I Book My Flight to Holbox?
We recommend booking your private flight to Holbox as soon as you know your travel dates. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required, but during high season from November to April, we recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance. Christmas, New Year, Easter, and other popular dates may fill even earlier. Booking early gives you the best choice of departure dates and times.

What Are the Flight Times to Holbox?
Private flights to Holbox operate daily between approximately 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Unlike commercial airlines, we don’t have a fixed schedule—you can choose your preferred departure time, subject to aircraft availability. Flights operate during daylight hours only because Holbox Airport does not have runway lighting.
Are There Any Discounts When Flying with Flights Holbox?
Flights Holbox generally does not offer discounts, promotional fares or last-minute deals. Our private flight prices are based on hiring the entire aircraft, not on the number of passengers traveling.
The charter price therefore remains the same whether you are traveling alone or with up to five passengers. However, you can travel with friends or family and divide the cost among your group.
Flights Holbox does not sell individual seats or arrange shared flights. Each aircraft is booked exclusively for your group, subject to passenger, luggage and total aircraft weight limits.

What Are My Options If I Have Too Much Luggage?
If your luggage exceeds the aircraft’s available capacity, Flights Holbox can help arrange an alternative. The maximum combined weight of passengers and luggage is 330 kg (727 lbs), and available luggage space depends on your group size.
You generally have two options:
1. Reserve a second aircraft — ideal for larger groups, multiple suitcases or oversized equipment.
2. Send excess luggage by road — we can arrange a dedicated luggage transfer with Go Holbox Transfers for an additional USD 350.
Please tell us your luggage quantity, approximate weight and any oversized items in advance so we can recommend the best option.
How Much Luggage Can I Bring?
Your Holbox flight luggage allowance depends on the number of passengers and the total aircraft weight.
For 1–3 passengers, each passenger can usually bring one checked bag up to 20 kg plus one carry-on up to 10 kg.
For 4–5 passengers, luggage is limited to one carry-on up to 10 kg per passenger.
The maximum combined weight of all passengers and luggage is 330 kg (727 lbs). Please provide your approximate passenger and luggage weights when booking so we can confirm everything can be accommodated safely.
Why Is the Luggage Allowance Limited?
Safety always comes first. Every aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight established by the manufacturer and required by aviation regulations. Therefore, we carefully calculate the combined weight of passengers and luggage before every flight.
These calculations allow our pilots to operate the aircraft safely while providing the best possible performance throughout the journey.
Traveling with Extra Luggage
If your group is carrying more luggage than the aircraft can safely accommodate, don’t worry. We can usually offer two convenient solutions.
You may book a second aircraft for your group. Alternatively, we can arrange a luggage transfer by road directly to or from your hotel. Our team will recommend the best option based on your travel plans.

Does Cancun Airport Have Luggage Storage?
No. The private aviation terminal (FBO) used for Flights Holbox departures does not provide luggage storage, so excess luggage cannot be left there for later collection.
If your luggage exceeds the aircraft’s available weight or storage capacity, we can help arrange an alternative. You can either reserve a second aircraft or arrange a dedicated luggage transfer by road to or from your hotel. The luggage transfer costs an additional USD 350.
Please tell us about your luggage before booking so we can confirm what can safely fit on the aircraft and arrange additional transportation if necessary.
Can I Bring Sports Equipment?
Yes, sports equipment can often be transported on Flights Holbox private flights, depending on your group size, equipment dimensions and total weight. This may include kiteboarding equipment, diving gear, fishing equipment and some surfboards.
With 1–3 passengers, there is generally more space available for larger equipment. With 4–5 passengers, luggage space is very limited, and oversized sports equipment usually cannot be accommodated.
The maximum combined weight of passengers and luggage is 330 kg (727 lbs). Please tell us what equipment you’re bringing before booking. If it cannot fit safely, we can help arrange a second aircraft or separate ground transportation.
Can I Bring a Stroller or Wheelchair?
Yes, compact or foldable strollers and wheelchairs can often be transported on Flights Holbox private flights, depending on their dimensions, weight and the available aircraft storage space.
Please tell us in advance if you are traveling with a stroller, wheelchair or other mobility equipment. We may ask for the item’s dimensions, weight or a photo so we can confirm that it will fit safely.
Large or non-foldable items may not fit in the aircraft. If necessary, we can help arrange separate transportation by private ground transfer for an additional cost.
Traveling with Pets
Is There an Extra Charge for Pets?
No. Flights Holbox does not charge an additional fee for pets. Pets are welcome to travel with you inside the aircraft on our private flights to and from Holbox.
Please let us know when booking that you are traveling with a pet and provide the type of pet and approximate weight, as your pet’s weight counts toward the aircraft’s total weight limit.
If you are unsure how your pet will behave during the flight, we recommend bringing a suitable carrier or crate. A familiar blanket can also help your pet feel more comfortable and keep the aircraft clean.
Can I Bring My Pet on a Flight to Holbox?
Yes! Flights Holbox is pet-friendly, and pets can travel with you inside the aircraft on private flights to and from Holbox.
Please let us know when booking that you are traveling with a pet and provide the type of pet and approximate weight, as pets count toward the aircraft’s total weight allowance.

How Many Passengers Can Fly?
Our private aircraft can accommodate up to five passengers per plane. The exact capacity depends on the combined weight of passengers and luggage.
Traveling with a larger group? Two aircraft can be arranged to fly simultaneously, allowing your group to travel together. Another option is to combine a private flight with a private ground transfer for additional passengers or luggage.
What About Luggage?
Small aircraft have different luggage limitations than commercial airliners. Passenger and luggage weight must be considered together, and compact, soft-sided bags are recommended whenever possible. If your group has additional or oversized luggage, our team can help arrange the most suitable solution.

How Do I Get from Cancun to Holbox?
There are three main ways to travel from Cancun to Holbox:
Private flight: The fastest option. A private flight from Cancun to Holbox takes approximately 30 minutes and lands directly at Holbox Airport.
Private transfer + ferry: Travel by private vehicle from Cancun to Chiquilá, then take the ferry to Holbox. The complete journey typically takes around 2.5–3.5 hours, depending on traffic and connections.
Bus or rental car + ferry: A lower-cost option is to travel independently to Chiquilá and continue by ferry. Rental cars must normally be left in Chiquilá because Holbox is largely car-free.
The best option depends on your budget, schedule and preferred travel time.
How Long Does It Take to Fly from Cancun to Holbox?
A private flight from Cancun to Holbox takes approximately 30 minutes, making it the fastest way to reach the island.
Flights depart from the private aviation terminal (FBO) at Cancun International Airport and land directly at Holbox Airport. We recommend arriving at the FBO approximately 15 minutes before departure.
If you are connecting from a commercial flight at Cancun Airport, allow at least 60–90 minutes between your scheduled arrival and private flight. This gives you time for immigration, baggage collection, customs and the short transfer from the commercial terminal to the FBO.
Can You Fly Between Cancun and Holbox?
Yes. Flights Holbox offers private charter flights from Cancun to Holbox in approximately 30 minutes. Flights depart from the private aviation terminal (FBO) at Cancun International Airport and land directly at Holbox Airport.
Each flight is a private charter reserved exclusively for your group, with space for up to five passengers, subject to passenger and luggage weight limits.
Flights operate during daylight hours and are subject to weather and aircraft availability. If you are connecting from a commercial flight at Cancun Airport, we recommend allowing 60–90 minutes between your airline arrival and private flight departure.

How Much Does a Private Flight to Holbox Cost?
The private flight to Holbox cost is USD 840 plus 16% tax one way. Flights Holbox charges per aircraft rather than per passenger. Therefore, the same charter price applies whether one or up to five passengers travel, subject to the aircraft’s weight and luggage restrictions.
Moreover, the approximately 30-minute flight operates between the Cancun FBO and Holbox Airport.

The roundtrip price covers two private flights. However, both flights must be confirmed according to aircraft availability, operating hours, and weather conditions.

When Do I Pay for My Private Flight to Holbox?
To confirm your private flight, Flights Holbox requires a small deposit, typically around USD 160 per aircraft for a one-way flight. Once the deposit is received, your aircraft is reserved for your scheduled date and time.
The remaining balance is paid on the day of travel before departure, so you do not need to pay the full flight price months in advance.
Payment options include credit or debit card, cash in USD or MXN, and PayPal for the deposit.

Does Flights Holbox Offer Empty Legs or Last-Minute Deals?
No. Flights Holbox does not offer empty-leg flights, shared flights or individual seats. All flights are private charters, meaning the entire aircraft is reserved exclusively for you and your group.
The charter price is based on hiring the aircraft rather than the number of passengers, so the price is generally the same whether one or up to five passengers are traveling.
You are welcome to organize your own group and divide the cost between yourselves, but Flights Holbox does not match individual travelers or sell separate seats. Last-minute private flights may still be available at the regular charter price, subject to aircraft and pilot availability.
Weather & Flight Conditions
Do Private Flights to Holbox Operate in Bad Weather?
Yes. Weather and runway conditions can affect private flights to Holbox. Light rain or cloudy skies do not necessarily prevent flying, but thunderstorms, heavy rain, strong winds or poor visibility may cause delays, rescheduling or cancellations.
Heavy rainfall can also affect the Holbox Airport runway. Because it is an unpaved island airstrip, the airport may remain closed after heavy rain until runway conditions are suitable for safe aircraft operations. This means a flight may be affected even when the weather is sunny on your travel day.
We monitor weather and airport conditions and will discuss rescheduling or ground transportation alternatives if your flight cannot operate safely.
Can Private Flights to Holbox Be Delayed Due to Weather?
Yes. Private flights to Holbox can be delayed, rescheduled or occasionally cancelled due to weather conditions. Safety always comes first, and flights operate only when conditions are suitable for the aircraft, route and airports involved.
Heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds or poor visibility can affect flight operations. Holbox Airport also operates during daylight hours, so weather delays later in the day can have a greater impact.
If conditions are temporarily unsuitable, we may wait for them to improve. If the flight cannot operate safely, we will discuss available options, including rescheduling or helping arrange a private ground transfer.
When Is the Best Time of Year to Visit Holbox?
The best time to visit Holbox depends on what you want to experience. December through April generally offers drier weather, warm temperatures and lower humidity, making it a popular time for beach vacations.
For wildlife lovers, June through August is particularly popular because it coincides with the main whale shark season. September and October tend to be wetter and fall within hurricane season, although sunny days are still possible.
Holbox can be visited year-round, so the best time ultimately depends on your preferred weather, activities and travel plans.
Cancellations & Changes
Can I Change My Reservation with Flights Holbox?
Yes. In most cases, you can request a change to your Flights Holbox reservation. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your flight date or departure time.
Changes are subject to aircraft and pilot availability, airport operating hours, weather conditions and daylight hours. The more notice you provide, the better the chance we can accommodate your preferred new date or time.
If your private flight connects with a commercial airline flight, please also provide your updated flight information. Availability may be more limited during high season from November through April, particularly around Christmas and New Year.
Can I Cancel My Flight Reservation with Flights Holbox?
Yes. You can cancel your Flights Holbox private flight reservation. If you cancel 14 days or more before your scheduled travel date, your deposit is fully refundable. Cancellations made 13 days or less before departure are non-refundable.
If you notify us at least 48 hours before departure, a voucher for future travel may be possible, subject to availability and our booking conditions.

What Happens If My Flight to Cancun Is Delayed?
If your commercial flight to Cancun is delayed, please contact us as soon as possible. We monitor incoming flights when flight details are provided and will try to move your private flight to a later departure, subject to aircraft availability and daylight hours.
Flights to Holbox operate during daylight hours only, so arrivals after approximately 4:00 PM may be too late for a same-day flight.
If we cannot fly you that day, we may be able to reschedule your flight for the following morning or arrange a private ground transfer to Chiquilá.
We recommend allowing at least 60–90 minutes between your scheduled arrival in Cancun and your private flight. If an airline delay causes you to miss your departure and we cannot reschedule it, your deposit is non-refundable under our cancellation policy.
Will I Get a Refund If I Cancel My Flight to Holbox?
Yes, depending on when you cancel your private flight.
14 days or more before departure: You receive a 100% refund of your deposit.
0–13 days before departure: Your deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is not due until the day of travel before departure.
If you notify us at least 48 hours before departure, we may be able to offer a travel voucher instead, subject to availability and booking conditions.
If Flights Holbox is unable to operate your flight due to weather or operational reasons, your deposit will be fully refunded.

Where Is the Private Flight Terminal in Cancun?
The private aviation terminal (FBO) at Cancun International Airport is separate from the regular commercial passenger terminals and is located within the airport complex near Terminal 3. This is where you will meet your pilot for your Flights Holbox private flight.
If you arrive at Terminal 2, 3 or 4, you will need to take a short taxi ride or pre-arranged private transfer to the FBO. Tell your driver you are going to the FBO / Aviación General at Cancun International Airport.
We will provide your meeting instructions and reconfirm your flight details before departure.
Where Is Holbox Airport and How Do I Get There?
Holbox Airport (Aeródromo de Holbox) is a small island airport located less than 1 km from the center of Holbox. It is used for private and air-taxi flights and is easy to reach from most hotels. The easiest way to get there is by golf-cart taxi, with the journey from central Holbox taking approximately 5 minutes. Flights Holbox passengers meet their pilot directly at the airport.
Where Is Cancun Airport FBO and How Do I Get There?
Cancun Airport FBO is the private aviation terminal at Cancun International Airport, located on the northwest side of the airport beside Terminal 3. It is separate from the commercial terminals. If you arrive at Terminal 2, 3 or 4, you’ll need to exit the terminal and take a short taxi or private transfer to the FBO (Aviación General), where you’ll meet your Flights Holbox pilot.

Flights Holbox offers private flights from Holbox to several destinations across the Yucatán Peninsula and Riviera Maya. Popular routes include Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Tulum and Mérida, with flight times varying by destination.

Where Do I Meet My Pilot for Flights Holbox?
Your meeting point depends on the airport you are departing from.
At larger airports such as Cancun, Tulum, Cozumel and Mérida, private flights generally depart from a private aviation or FBO area, which is separate from the regular commercial passenger terminals.
At smaller airports such as Playa del Carmen and Holbox, the meeting process is much simpler.
